Spencer Museum of Art

KU's Spencer Museum of Art features one of the most comprehensive university art collections in the country. Located at 1301 Mississippi on the KU campus.

The Lied Center

The Lied Center of Kansas, KU's multimillion-dollar performing arts center, was ranked by International Arts Manager Magazine as one of "The Top U.S. University Presenters." Call 785-864-ARTS for ticket information.

The Lawrence Arts Center

The Lawrence Arts Center serves the community and region by providing an extensive calendar of exhibitions, performances and classes. Housed in spacious new quarters on New Hampshire Street, the Arts Center is the hub of arts activities and information in Lawrence.

Art Galleries

With a multitude of art galleries to peruse, it is no wonder that Lawrence is ranked 12th by the National Endowment for the Arts among cities in the U.S. with the largest percentage of professional artists in the workforce.

Art in the Park

The Lawrence Art Guild hosts the annual Art in the Park on the first Sunday in May. This juried show and sale showcases all types of art and takes place in South Park, near downtown.

Music

Music is the way of life in Lawrence. Classical, big band, blues or rock, take a stroll down Massachusetts Street any night of the week to hear Lawrence's fresh new talent.

Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition

Sculpture, design and paintings are found in galleries and museums as well as on buildings and street corners. The Downtown Lawrence Outdoor Sculpture exhibit is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and features works from local as well as national artists.
