A Flea in Her Ear

"A Flea in Her Ear" by Georges Feydeau, translated by David Ives, is a bedroom comedy with a series of misunderstandings, clandestine assignations, misplaced jealousies, and frantic chases. This delightfully entertaining play respects the French tradition in a fresh and accessible manner.
Tickets are $16 for the public, $15 for senior citizens and KU faculty and staff, and $10 for all students.

A Quarreling Pair

The legendary Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company has a long history of exploring a number of charged and controversial themes through movement, music and dance. A Quarreling Pair, the surreal and interpretive staging of a 1946 Jane Bowles puppet play by the same name, tells the story of two argumentative sisters who cannot agree about their place in the world. www.lied.ku.edu

Lawrence ArtWalk 2008

The Harlem Quartet – A Sphinx Ensemble

Soweto Gospel Choir – African Spirit

The choir is a 26-member vocal ensemble, performing in five of South Africa’s 11 official languages. They perform inspirational programs of tribal, traditional and popular African gospel songs. Performing selections from the Grammy Award-winning 2007 album African Spirit, the choir will bring vibrant energy to unique original gospel songs as well as present poignant interpretations of popular music.

Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street

This high-concept interpretation of Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a 2005 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s original 1979 musical. The performance features a nine-member cast performing as both actors and the show’s musicians. Sondheim’s original Broadway show starred Len Cariou as Sweeney Todd and Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett. It was nominated for nine Tony Awards and won eight. www.lied.ku.edu

When an army of giant mecha (walking vehicles controlled by a pilot) attack, young martial-arts champion Kim Hoon must pilot Robot Taekwon V to defend the planet! Inspired by Mazinger Z, a Japanese anime popular in 1970s Korea, Robot Taekwon V was the country's first full-length animated feature and the first to be digitally restored.
