Quantrill's Raid Step-on Guided Tour

This tour focuses on what some historians call the worst atrocity of the Civil War. Retrace William Quantrill's fiery path through Lawrence as he and 400 pro-slavery guerrillas burned most of the "Free State Fortress," in 1863. You'll make stops at the mass grave in Oak Hill Cemetery, visit sites and markers and see homes and buildings that survived the raid, while listening to stories of individual tragedy and heroism.
