The Free State Brewing Co. opened in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in more than 100 years. Located in a renovated inter-urban trolley station at 636 Massachusetts in historic downtown Lawrence, Free State offers fresh menu specials daily created by top chefs along with their award-winning beers.
