Alferd Packer Memorial Band

The Alferd Packer Memorial String Band performs a lively, infectious stage show that involves the audience in its acoustic music. The members' 1870s costuming and outlandish humor complement the seasoned musicians' performances of old-time string band, contemporary and traditional bluegrass and American folk music. The Packer Band also presents workshops on guitar construction; banjo, fiddle and hammered dulcimer performance; contra dancing; Appalachian-style clog dancing; and performance and organizational structure of a band.
