View an excellent 27 minute docu-drama. The film chronicles the first 10 years of Lawrence's history and culminates with Quantrill's Raid on the city in 1863. This is a good introduction to Lawrence's fiery beginnings. Reservations required.

Quantrill's Raid Step-on Guided Tour

This tour focuses on what some historians call the bloodiest single event of the Civil War. Retrace William Quantrill's fiery path through Lawrence as he and 400 pro-slavery guerrillas burned most of the "Free State Fortress," in 1863. You'll make stop at the mass grave in Oak Hill Cemetery, visit sites and markers and see homes and buildings that survived the raid, while listening to stories of individual tragedy and heroism.

Historic Lecompton Territorial Capital

Tour Constitution Hall, a National Landmark, where the famous Lecompton Constitution was written. Visit the Territorial Capital Museum, a National Registar Site, was started as the Kansas Capital Building, later completed as Lane University, site of President Eisenhower's parents wedding, along with three floors of displayed artifacts.
