Lawrence offers a variety of performing arts events and entertainment.

Community Theatre

Enjoy the excitement of award-winning live theatre in an intimate setting. Every seat is no more than 20 feet from the action so you won't miss any of the comedy, music or drama. During intermission taste homemade desserts while you view the work of the featured artist of the month.

Right Between the Ears

Public radio's award-winning comedy series. Live nationwide broadcast with music, comedy and much more. Group also performs a Goodtime Radio Revue. This is a live broadcast of an old-fashioned variety show performed several times a year with an emphasis on the season.

KU Jazz Festival

Nationally recognized jazz artists perform fabulous, spontaneous numbers along with University of Kansas jazz students.

Lied Center Performance

The Lied Center is home to University of Kansas Concert, Chamber Music, Broadway, New Directions and Family Series. The acoustical and technical integrity of the Lied Center provide a state-of-the-art setting for music, dance, theatre, lectures, films and convocations.

Pickin' & Fiddlin' Championships

(August)
State championships feature open competition in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, miscellaneous acoustic instruments and ensemble folk singing. This is a two-day event, usually scheduled the last weekend of August.

Rick Averill's Seem-to-be-Players

Lively family entertainment performed by local young adults, youth and children.
