Wednesday, April 20th
Downtown Shot Put
Intersection of 8th St. & New Hampshire St.
6 pm - 8 pm

The City of Lawrence is converting the 100 block of East 8th St. and the intersection of 8th & New Hampshire into a shot put competition arena for 10 world class throwers. Current World Champion Chris Cantwell and others are scheduled to appear.


Thursday, April 21st
Long Jump
100 Block of W. 8th St.
6 pm - 8 pm

Up, up and away! An exciting men’s long jump will be the main attraction on Thursday. 8–10 elite athletes are expected to compete. This event won't be enforcing the fault line rule, so it is sure to be an thrilling competition with the longer jumps!

Mile Run
700 Block of New Hampshire St.
5:30 pm - 5:45 pm

The Downtown Mile Run is an open run that will allow entrants to compete against several elite mile runners. This U shape race route will start at 7th & New Hampshire and end at 8th & Vermont. The race is open to the public, so lace up those shoes!
